Bighorn Sheep Ram
A wild ram in near profile, one full curl of horn coming back level with the eye, the iris and every growth ridge sharp.

Stand back a metre and pan slowly — even light helps
A single bighorn ram fills the frame from the shoulder forward, facing right in near profile, one full curl of horn wrapping past the ear with the tip coming back up level with the eye. The background is thrown right out into a soft bank of snow and winter scrub, with no hard edge anywhere in it.
Almost nothing in the frame carries colour except the eye: the amber iris with its horizontal pupil, a catchlight and the separate lashes. The horn shows every growth ridge and a scatter of wear scars along its leading edge. The credit reads USFWS Mountain Prairie, dated 1 April 2020, and a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service photograph is a US federal government work, so no royalty is owed on this print and none is paid.
