Frosty bison
One bull walks down a ploughed road at a frosted dawn, every guard hair on his face carrying its own ice crystal.
A single bull walks straight down a snow-covered, plough-ridged road towards the camera, head lowered, both horns and the hanging beard dark against lit snow. The sun is low behind him and slightly to the right, so the frost along his forehead and cape takes that light as a white rim. Breath and blown snow hang as a haze above the shoulders.
Enlarged, the frost separates into single ice crystals standing on individual guard hairs, and the eye still holds a clean catchlight. The record credits Jacob W. Frank and dates it 13 January 2017.
